Sceptics struggle with astrology because so few of them have ever studied it (trust me, it takes years, particularly at university level!) Very few of them liked what I had to say about the loco behaviour of the Australian dollar from February 3rd – and still fewer have any time for the ‘woo’ that predicted US, Chinese and British economies would soon receive an historic wake-up call. Astrology keeps her own sense of time, though. That’s why Cancerian and Capricorn nations are set for an epic economic milestone at the Full Moon in Leo/Aquarius on Tuesday February 7th. The fact that this coincides with a Sun-Mercury conjunction in Aquarius on the same day is all any astrologer needs to know. Floating currencies will go back onto dry land. Fogged-up scuba masks will be off. The anaesthetic is wearing off too…And by the way – that whole social media thing that we were all addicted to? That’s going too, on or very close to the eyes-wide-open reality check on February 7th.

Aquarius

It takes more than a Full Moon in Leo to send you off course with a former, current or potential partner. Or even someone who is openly your rival or opponent. Still, you may want to wait until the Moon is safely in Virgo, from Wednesday, before making any sweeping decisions or statements. Communication is the word of the week. You will see why near Friday, when someone who shares your ideas will draw closer. Exciting freedom and new beginnings are in store, online or offline. Wordsmith alert!

Pisces

Second or third party involvement in your money, house, business or flat continues to make you deeply concerned about the future. Yet this cycle will end before the year is out, and in the meantime, there are extremely unusual options, designed to usher in freedom and new possibilities. This is a one-off situation and you will see just why near Friday. How can you resist change, though? It feels as if it’s part of a wider, organic process. So vive la revolution. This may well alter your values in some way as well.

Aries

A defining moment for a friendship or group involvement will take place near Tuesday as you realise how much things have altered, and how refreshing it is to put things into words, just as they are. This is also a relaunch week. There will be a few of those in 2012 and 2013, but the excitement you feel at new freedom near Friday will help you shed a skin or put on a new one. If anything about your name, face or body restricts you, dump it. A person who sees your success as their own, will share the ride.

Taurus

You can see clearly, now the career fog has gone. Or was it your time as a student or volunteer? An important discussion, document or piece of news near Tuesday will help you commit to a new future which is far more practical and much more realistic. At that point the Full Moon will also highlight just how unbalanced the house, flat, flatmate or family situation really is. This is a passing phase, though, and your time and energy should really be going into something you are very carefully covering up.

Gemini

Your social life, friendships, group involvements and social media commitments are about to change. A sense of trust, closeness and mutual reliance with one of these people will help. But the biggest need of all is for freedom. As you will see near Friday, this is not a time when people (including you) are prepared to be restricted in any way. The asteroid Juno in your house of former, current and potential partners is also involved. It looks as though security is on offer for someone, somewhere – though without freedom!

Cancer

What takes place near Tuesday is the clearest sign yet that a new era has begun with your finances, property interests, business commitments or precious possessions. That was then and this is now. You may be blinking a little in the light of the Full Moon but it is also time to see with clear 20/20 vision instead of the usual blurred focus. Near Friday, you also see the potential for freedom in your career, your life at university or with volunteer work. There is a creative process at work, even if it’s all highly unusual.

Leo

Now you can see your former, current or potential partner as other people do. Or even your enemy. What a revelation. No more fuzziness! One of the year’s most important conversations, messages or documents will cross your path very close to Tuesday, just one week before Saint Valentine’s Day. This is also an epic time for Leos who find freedom through writing, travelling, studying, teaching or publishing. Or do you just find connections with other cultures and countries liberating?

Virgo

Your ruling planet Mercury is associated with pure facts, nothing more – and he will help you get to grips with what is actually there, in terms of your work, university or health situation. It may feel as if you are coming round, after years of local anaesthetic, but the time has come to open your eyes and see every detail. The long-term concerns you have about money, property or business are deep (though they will end in October). In the short-term, though, some exciting new freedom is on offer, close to Friday.

Libra

Just one week before Saint Valentine’s Day, you find yourself on planet earth for the first time in years. Your feelings about pregnancy, parenthood, or your children have heavily influenced your love life to date, to a free-form jazz soundtrack with a wandering saxophone. Now it’s time for some new music. That was then and this is now. That was unreality, and this is nothing but reality. A brand new phase with your former, current or potential partner comes near Friday. Or someone new sweeps in.

Scorpio

It’s all about your home and lifestyle this week. Or the family and daily routine. How are you going to reassemble the jigsaw of your daily life? Freedom is the magic word for you, he, she or they. You are now in a position to take a completely different approach to a property question, domestic issue, close relative, flatmate or tenant. Even if the Full Moon near Tuesday is temporarily challenging, it assists a wake-up call that has been a long time coming. Something must now be said clearly or put in writing.

Sagittarius

Venus, the planet of all partnership skills and arts, enters your house of sex, parenthood and close relationships on Wednesday. She joins Uranus, who always delivers extreme change. So is this about your son, daughter, pregnancy, contraception, adoption or step-parenting? One thing is certain. Freedom is extremely important to you and others now. Not only near Friday, but throughout 2012. Any situation which restricts that freedom is very unlikely to last, which may explain the changes to come.

Capricorn

It would be logical if decisions made near Tuesday were to affect the outcome of home improvements, property investments, a lease, bond or mortgage. But there are any number of ways you will be off to a fresh start with the house, the family, the flatmates or the apartment. After some years of woolly thinking from you or other people (or let’s face it, the financial world in general) you are now in a position to clarify, contain and control. Perhaps this is behind the new word on your front doormat. It’s FREEDOM.
